Active Adult Communities
The Triangle Region is home to many Active Adult and lower maintenance communities. These areas are designed with active minded and fun loving adults in mind looking. Many residents have moved from larger family homes either within the Triangle or from elsewhere, looking to retire in a mild climate that has a lot to offer. The communities typically have many social activities to join, and extensive club houses and amenity centers that serve as a focal point for new friends.
Heritage Pines in Cary is the original Active Adult Community in the area and was established 6-7 years ago. It has about 300 homes, mostly ranch style. Some homes have a loft or partial second floor ideal for hobbies or guests. The neighborhood now has mature landscaping with walking trails and ponds throughout it. It is located adjacent to the Preston area, near new shopping, golf and medical. There is a large club house with pool, tennis, library, billiards and work out facility. Residents can participate in as much or little as they choose, and pick from parities, activities, sports events and charities. The community is very welcoming to new comers, and is a great source of great friendships for the residents.
The Carolina Preserve, Del Webb neighborhood is the largest Active Adult Community in the area. It will eventually have around 1000 homes varying in style and price range. The neighborhood is part of a larger area, Amberly, which is a master planned community on the north west side of Cary. Amberly is in the process of building out a Village Center, which will feature small shops and restaurants. The Carolina Preserve has an incredible amenity package, with a 34,000 square foot club house, a heated indoor and outdoor pool, aerobics/yoga studio, amphitheatre, putting green and world class fitness studio and more. There is a professional events coordinator to manage the myriad of events that residents have to choose from. There are a variety of homes ranging from quaint villas to large family style homes. It is easy to see how newcomers to the Carolina Preserve quickly feel at home where every day feels like a vacation!
The Orchard Villas are located in Apex NC, known as the “Peak City”. Apex has a wonderful downtown historic district with shops, coffee shops and restaurants. It is easily accessible to Cary, Raleigh and the rest of the Triangle. The community offers ranch style villas that combine elegance with functionality. There are five floor plans to choose from with many enhancements that are standard. The low maintenance design allows you to spend more time with your friends at the club house, enjoying the many social and athletic activities available. The community offers convenience, security and care-free active living.
The Village at Aversboro is located in Garner, in the southern part of the Triangle. This community offers upscale low maintenance living. The elegant homes are all brick, and feature open and bright floor plans with many of today’s most desirable features. Each home has a two car garage, screened in porches and backyard area for outdoor entertaining. Lawn maintenance is included in your monthly homeowner dues.
The location provides easy access to Raleigh’s business and cultural events. The community is close to local shopping, restaurants. It is also convenient to Lake Benson is nearby which offers walking trails, fishing and boating. Rex Wellness center is minutes away as well as top ranked hospital and medical facilities.
